Biography
Leah Markov-Lindsey was born in Oakland, California in 1980 and raised in Austin, Texas. She currently lives and works in Oakland. Since graduating from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a BA in Studio Art in 2002, she has exhibited her work at Arthouse, Volitant Gallery, OnCongress Space, and Hideout Coffeehouse in Austin; Bedford Gallery in Walnut Creek; and the University of California, San Francisco Kalmanovitz Library. Leah’s work has been reviewed in the Austin American-Statesman, the Austin Chronicle, Voices of Art Magazine, Emvergeoning, and …might be good. In 2007, the Austin Critics Table nominated her project Memento Mori in the Best Work of Art category. She is a member of Cadresquad, a cross-disciplinary artist collective in the Bay Area. |
